The case of a man who died after being severely beaten has now been declared a homicide.

The medical examiner says Jacob Klepacz died from blunt head trauma in an assault.

Alcohol intoxication was a contributing factor.

Klepacz was found badly beaten April 28th in the 1500 block of West Fullerton. He later died at the hospital.

Family members say he used Facebook to check in at a bar in Wrigleyville earlier that night, but no one knows how he ended up on Fullerton.

An initial autopsy was inconclusive.

No arrests have been made.
