Navy Pier is currently in the midst of renovating and remodeling their space.

The project known as ‘The Centennial Vision: Pierscape’ is “an important project that will reimagine it into a bolder, greener and more contemporary urban space for decades to come,” according to their website.

In a message from Marilynn Gardner, President & CEO, Navy Pier, Inc, she states “As Navy Pier approaches its 100th anniversary in 2016, it is an exciting time for visitors, patrons and staff whose investments have made the Pier the success that it is today.

As guardians for this incredible destination, the NPI team is committed to transforming Navy Pier into an even more popular place by helping to bring in a new mix of attractions that will appeal to a variety of guests.”

One of the redevelopment plans may include a hotel and entertainment district, which would appeal to a more adult audience.

The renovation is scheduled to take place over the next 20 months in various phases of construction.
