Police-involved shooting leaves 1 injured on South Side

Police shot and wounded a man on the South Side early Friday morning after he shot first.

It happened at about 4:15 a.m. in an alley near 74th Street and South Vincennes.

Officers were responding to a report of a person with a gun, when a suspect took off running.

The man is in serious condition at Stroger Hospital.

Police seized a semi-automatic handgun.

No police officers were injured.
