There is plenty to do this weekend in the city.  Millions will be pouring into downtown in order to make it happen. Several roads will be closed so get ready for fun and traffic.

First off the Old Saint Pat’s Block Party is underway and it will start back up again tomorrow. They bill it as the world’s largest block party. Parts of Des Plaines and Monroe streets will be closed for this at different times throughout the day.

And night crews are busy in Ellis Park setting up for the Chicago Gospel Music Festival also taking place this weekend.  The event always has a good draw.

Moving up north now, the Pride Parade is expected to draw close to or more than a million people. The parade will take place Sunday but there are several other pride related events going on all weekend.

Also police will have a heavy presence up and down the parade route to make sure the drinking stays off the streets and baloneys and rooftops aren’t over their capacity.

Pride Parade organizers expect an even bigger crowd than last year because same sex couple can now marry in Illinois.
