Nuns in a Chicago suburb held a march against a strip club in their backyard today.

The sisters are suing and stepping up public pressure.

They have been quietly fighting the owners of the strip club that neighbors their convent in Stone Park. Now they’re taking their fight public.

The Missionary Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo, along with community members and the village of Melrose Park, filed a lawsuit Friday against Club Allure and it’s very silent group of partners. They say the club is violating Illinois law by being too close to their convent, where retired nuns live. The convent also houses their chapels and schools.

The Village of Stone Park approved a zoning change to allow the club to be built here.

The managing partner of club allure doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about and says they are good neighbors and are operating legally.
