Boy, 14, critically injured in West Side shooting

A 14-year-old boy is critically injured in a shooting on Chicago’s West Side.

It happened at about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of South Drake Avenue in the North Lawndale neighborhood.

Police say he was shot in the lower back as he walked down the sidewalk.

Police are not releasing  information about what led up to the shooting and the boy has not been identified.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. The family is requesting no information about his condition be released.

No arrests have been made.
