Swimmer sets sights on epic Chicago to Milwaukee route

Northern California native Jamie Patrick has been swimming since he was 7-years-old.

He swam through high school into college, triathlons, Ironman, Triple Ironman and in the last four years, massive open water undertakings. Patrick has swam the Strait of Gibraltar, tackled 44 miles in Lake Tahoe and ven spent 31 plus hours going 111 miles down the Sacramento River.

On August 18th, Patrick will enter Lake Michigan in Milwaukee and swim 71-miles down to the Windy City non-stop. It will likely take less than two days and he will be without a wet suit.

WGN’s Amy Rutledge caught up with Patrick during a recent training swim.
