Suspect in shooting that wounded 2 Chicago officers held without bail

A suspect will be held without bail for charges connected to a shooting that injured two Chicago police officers.

29-year-old Malik Shabazz is charged with five counts of attempted first degree murder.

police say they pulled him over in the 9300 block of S Wallace late Friday night.

When the officers approached, they say Shabazz fired at them and hit one officer in the leg, the other in his bullet-proof vest.

The officers fired back and wounded both Shabazz and a woman in the car.

Both were taken to the hospital.
