Scientists are working on a new laser to catch drunk drivers.

It’s similar to speed guns used by police.

Researchers say the device works by detecting subtle changes in the laser beam as it passes through alcohol vapor exhaled by a drinker inside the car.

The device is still in the early stages of development.

Scientists are still trying to work out how it can target only the driver and not passengers who have been drinking.
