Minimum wage public hearings

Now’s your chance to speak up about plans to raise the minimum wage in Chicago.

Mayor Emanuel’s minimum wage task force is holding five public hearings on the issue.

The first will be held Monday, June 9 at 7 p.m. at Kennedy-King College.

The additional four meetings will take place at the following dates and locations:

  • Thursday, June 12th, Malcolm X College (1900 W Van Buren St), 7PM
  • Thursday, June 19th, Truman College (1145 W Wilson Ave), 7PM
  • Tuesday, June 24th, Arturo Velazquez Institute (2800 S. Western), 7PM
  • Thursday, June 26th, Roberto Clemente Community Academy (1147 N Western Ave), 7PM

The mayor says Chicagoans deserve a raise and that he wants to find a balanced solution to the issue.
