The Chicago area is in for a soaking while a corridor from Nebraska and Iowa southeastward across downstate Illinois and Indiana are in for severe weather Tuesday night into Wednesday as the latest storm system tracks out of the Plains.

Rainfall tallies range from 0.32″ to as much as 2.70.” That’s quite a spread, but summertime rainfall variations are notorious. The involvement of thunderstorms plays a major role.

Enjoy Tuesday’s 80s because the storm system’s powerful easterly winds off Lake Michigan are to lower daytime temps in the city to the 50s–though clearing later in the week will allow temps to rebound. And there’s evidence next week is to see quite a temp rebound.
