Man drowns after canoe capsizes on Kankakee River

One man drowned after his canoe capsized on the Kankakee River.

It happened Tuesday night, in far southwest suburban Wilmington.

Rescue divers used sonar scanners to find the body of a 20-year-old man.

His name has not been released.

Two other people in the canoe made it to shore.

Another was rescued from an island on the river.

There’s no word yet on what caused the boat to flip over.
