stats_logo_400x225*Chicago has allowed a league-low 35 home runs this season – a trend that bodes well against the longball-averse Mets whose 40 home runs are the 4th-fewest in baseball.

*The Mets have hit 41 doubles on the road since the beginning of May – far and away the most in the National League over that span. Cincinnati and Milawaukee are second with 30.

*Chicago’s 2-1 victory last night snapped a National League season-high six-game streak of games decided by four or more runs.

* Daisuke Matsuzaka has allowed two or fewer earned runs in five consecutive starts.

* David Wright (72) and Daniel Murphy’s (70) combined 142 hits are tops among team’s leading duos in the National League.

* Anthony Rizzo leads the Cubs with 38 walks on the season, 11 more than runner-up Luis Valbuena’s 27.
