A bar where a woman claims she was sexually assaulted handed over surveillance video to Chicago police.

The 27-year-old woman says she was attacked inside The Irish Oak at Cornelia and Clark in Wrigleyville  at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.  There’s no word on her condition or if she was released.

“That is pretty surprising because it is so populated and there are so many bars I’m kind of surprised that happened and it wasn’t stopped in the moment.” said Andrew Sena, who has gone out in the Wrigleyville area.

Some who know Wrigleyville say going out, they have a plan to keep safe themselves.

“Because we’re always in such a big group we don’t really talk to random people and if they’re, like, ‘iffy’ we just walk away from them. We do keep our eyes out for each other,” said Alexandra Stalter.

Police only have a vague description of the man they’re looking for.

So far, no one is in custody.

  • No Surprise

    This is no surprise.
This is not the 1st time that this has happened in the last couple months in this area. A woman by the 7-11 down the street fell to the same fate almost a couple months ago. Citizens of Chicago, Tourists & Business guests of Chicago beware for your own safety.
There is no law an order anymore on these streets.

7 people shot last night in a strip mall in one place on the south side, not to mention how many others where victimized.
The Mayor and Chief of Police are not capable of stopping the increasing violence.
Please somebody of a higher authority bring in the State Police & Federal Law enforcement to patrol our neighborhoods before more people become victims.
