Westboro Baptist Church plans to protest Maya Angelou’s funeral

The Westboro Baptist Church, known for picketing military funerals and gay pride gatherings, is planning to protest Maya Angelou’s funeral.

The renowned poet, actress and civil rights activist died Wednesday. She was 86 years old.

The Westboro Baptist Church has tweeted its followers asking anyone for details on the funeral. They’ve also tweeted hateful things about Angelou following her death.

Funeral arrangements for Angelou have yet to be announced, and it’s unclear if her funeral will be open to the public.

    This group is pathetic. I was rather hoping that when their leader died they would back off. Normally when the head falls off the rest follows but in this case these people have lost their minds. They are causing so much hurt and just don't care. They feel so righteous yet they seem to have forgotten about Karma. They can't escape that.
