Three arrested after police find 3-year-old living in filth

Three people in Portage, Indiana face felony charges after police say they found a three-year-old girl living in filthy conditions.

The girl’s mother, Ashley Neiswinger, and two men Robert Sappington, and and Brandon Merry live in a mobile home, located in the 200 block of Wade Place.

Authorities say the home smelled like a combination of urine and marijuana and was filled with garbage and bugs.

The child was released to her father.
