A north suburban man who won $300,000 in the lottery plans to share the prize with his parents.

36-year-old Petros Marinakos of Lincolnwood bought a quick pick ticket for the April 8 Lucky Day Lotto drawing.

He gave the ticket to his father before leaving for work, jokingly asking him to take care of the winning ticket.

When his father checked the numbers after the drawing, he found out it matched the five winning numbers.

Marinakos says he`d like to buy his parents a new car, but he`ll do whatever they prefer.

The gas station where the ticket was sold will receive a $3,000 bonus, one percent of the prize.
