Evanston Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person who pushed over a menorah in front of the Tannenbaum Chabad House, a Jewish center near the Northwestern campus.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. on May 16th.

The damage to the menorah is minimal.  Some bulbs were broken and some of the fixtures are bent.  All can be fixed but there is a question tonight on whether this is just mischief or more of a message to the anti-Semitic statement to the Jewish community.

The Chabad House, an educational social and religious center for the Evanston Jewish community as well as Jewish students at  Northwestern.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Evanston Police at  (847)866-5000.
