Illinois Dept of Public Health Dr LaMar Hasbrouck on MERS case in state

This weekend it was announced that an Illinois man was the third person in the country to test positive for evidence of Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS.

It’s believed he was infected by the person who was diagnosed as the first American case, and was treated at a Northwest Indiana Hospital.

The Director of the Illinois Dept of Public Health, Dr ​LaMar Hasbrouck, spoke with WGN News about the latest case.
