Barbara Cook, 96, holds up a sign for her Facebook page.

A 96-year-old woman in Michigan is turning to social media in hopes of finding her long lost brother.

The last time Barbara Cook saw her brother Christian Oliver Dann Jr. was in the 1930s.  According to our sister station WXMI, Cook received a letter from her brother from Arizona in 1937, but that was the last time she heard from him.

Family tree searches and online genealogy sites didn’t provide any answers, so Cook’s granddaughter set up a Facebook page to help locate him.

“The best case is he’s still alive and we can reunite them,” granddaughter Sheri Kemp told WXMI. Even if Dann has passed away, Kemp said, her grandmother could at least get some closure and maybe reunite with some family.

If Dann is alive, he would be 98 years old.
