Brian P. Zabrodski, 24, of Homer Glen, was charged with one count of felony aggravated battery and one count of misdemeanor theft of services, according to a statement from police.

The cab driver told Orland Park police that when he dropped Zabrodski off near the 9800 block of Cordoba Court shortly before 6:40 a.m. on May 6, Zabrodski said he didn’t have money to pay for the ride and ran. The cab driver caught up with him but fell and broke his ankle during a brief struggle, police said.

Judge Donald Panarese Jr. released Zabrodski on bond Saturday.
