Friday was a day to celebrate at the Oak Lawn Hometown Middle School– where students raised thousands of dollars for a good cause.

The money is for young people with life-threatening medical conditions and it will give each of them an opportunity for a life-changing experience.

Friday was unlike any other day on the school calendar.

It was Make A Wish Day and the students, teachers and staff have raised $45,000 for that that will make dreams come true for seven area kids and their families.

Now that alone is impressive enough but Oak Lawn Hometown Middle School has been doing this for the last 10 years– raising $400k and fulfilling the wishes of more than 50 of their peers with life threatening conditions.
