Suburbs clean up after Monday night storms, flooding

Residents in Lake Bluff are cleaning up after storms with heavy rains flooded the area Monday night.

The flooding caused damage to basements, homes and furniture.

The students at Lake Bluff’s elementary and junior high got an unexpected one day holiday today. Impassable roads made it impossible for the buses to get through.
In Lake County, police were forced to shut down Route 41 near Route 176 as high standing water, at least two feet deep, made the road impassable.
