Violent storms caused problems for our area for a second straight day.

Heavy downpours created major challenges to drivers in many areas Monday night.

In Lake County, police were forced to shut down Route 41 near Route 176 as high standing water, at least two feet deep, made the road impassable.

Drivers were stranded for hours as they looked for alternate ways to get around.

Several people got trapped in their cars and had to be rescued.
