An accused killer who walked out of a hospital in Oak Lawn in February has now turned himself into police.

21-year-old Mark Cherry is charged with murdering one man and wounding two others during a home invasion in Gary last December.

He was taken to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn with a gunshot wound.

Cherry remained hospitalized until February, when he was released.

Hospital officials did not notify police in Gary, citing patient privacy.

Cherry surrendered to police at the jail in Lake County, Indiana, on Monday.
