Suburban teens compete in world’s largest rocket competition

After years of competing in adult rocketry competitions, Pat Butler decided it was time to make it a family affair..

For the last six months, daughters Jenna and Allison have been designing, building, launching and fine tuning their rockets for the 12th annual Team America Rocketry Challenge, the world’s largest student rocket competition.

The Oswego teens are the only students from Illinois qualified this year. They are competing against more than 700 teams across the U.S.
