Chicago’s red light cameras caught Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s own motorcade breaking the law.

Since 2012, it racked up tickets for running red lights and three warnings for speeding.

The mayor says he heard about the tickets on the news.

“As soon as I saw that or heard about the story, I said, ‘Look: follow the law, nobody’s above the law, slow down. Period,” said Emanuel.

The infractions by Emanuel’s motorcade were thrown out.

City Hall officials say those police vehicles don’t get tickets when they’re responding to an emergency or driving around the mayor.

I saw this report – – I thought that at times, the mayor wasn't in the vehicles – the mayor's 'team' was driving somewhere.
Of course no one paid a fine – – that's reserved for all of us taxpayers!!

If you have a red light or speeding ticket, use this article as an excuse. We don't have money to pay. If he does t pay. Why should we !
