The House Ethics Committee announced Monday that it is extending its review of Chicago Congressman Luis Gutierrez.

The announcement comes from a report produced by the Independent Office of Congressional Ethics.

The OCE found that Gutierrez used his official budget to pay nearly $600,000 to The Scofield Company for training and other “non-legislative”assistance.

The company’s senior partner, Doug Scofield, is a former Gutierrez chief of staff.

The Congressman’s reps released a statement Monday saying they would continue to “cooperate fully” with the review.
