2 in custody after shots fired at Robbins police during chase

Police in south suburban Robbins are looking for a third person who opened fire at officers during a chase.

It started around 5 a.m.  A Cook County Sheriff spokesman says after the shooting, the offenders ran off into the woods along 137th, between Trumbull and Monticello.

Two people are now in custody.  Charges have not been filed against them.

Sheriffs and Robbins police surrounded the woods, and are looking for a third suspect.

Robbins police says there is no threat to the community and the situation is under control.
