Chicago police also recovered 1,900 illegal guns.

However, Chicago has had 2 more murders than it did this time last year.

The numbers come as one person was killed and ten others were hurt in shootings since Friday afternoon.

A man was fatally shot at the corner of 81st street and Cottage Grove Avenue about 2:30 a.m. Friday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

What an absolutely irresponsible report from the City of Chicago. "Shootings down murders up". All that means is the shooters are getting better. Is McCarthy tooting his horn that the city is safer now that shootings are down but more people are being killed? I don't get the warm and fuzzes.
