NYPD Twitter campaign backfires horribly on department

The New York Police Department’s new Twitter hashtag, #MyNYPD, was supposed to be a chance for Twitter users to post happy pictures of themselves with officers.

twitterInstead, it turned into posts of people being beaten, dragged, or embarrassed by officers.

NYPD says despite the negativity, they are still committed to finding new ways to communicate with the community.
