Man killed after van crashes into CTA bus on Far South Side

The driver of a van was killed when he crashed into a CTA bus on the Far South Side overnight.

Police say the van collided with the bus at the intersection of 93rd and South Chicago, just before 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The van burst into flames.

People at the scene helped pull two passengers from the van they are both listed in serious-to-critical condition.

Firefighters cut the driver out of the van, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the bus was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The bus was not carrying any passengers at the time of the crash.
