Chicago Cubs fans are proud and excited to be a part of the 100th birthday celebrations.

“I love being here, and if anyone deserves a good birthday party, it’s Wrigley Field,” said one fan.

A huge crowd descended on the ballpark on Wednesday, and the first 10,000 people who entered the “Friendly Confines” received cupcakes.

A large cake of Wrigley Field was also on display next to the Ernie Banks statue. It had to be put under a tarp because it started to melt under the warm sun. The cake will be presented during the 7th inning.

Fomer Cubs and Bears players are among those on hand for the festivities.

The woman who will throw the first pitch is the grand-niece of the man who built Wrigley Field. She will toss a ball that’s 98 years-old.

“If you’re a Cub fan, then you’re a Cub fan win, lose or draw,” said another fan.
