The family of a North Chicago teen who was shot and killed earlier this week is asking anyone with information to come forward.

They held a vigil to honor 15-year-old Travon Beech who was shot in the head.

Police found his body early Thursday morning in an alley in the 1400 block of Jackson Avenue.

Beech’s mother says the eighth grader, who attended Neal Math and Science Academy, had recently started staying out late and getting into trouble.

Police have not said if Beech was by himself when he was shot.

His family says he had been in trouble with the police and believes the shooting may have been gang related.
