A fire in Wisconsin has killed more than 200 animals trapped in a burning barn.

The blaze broke out early Thursday at the property in Whitewater, outside of Madison.

The owner of the animals says about 250 animals were inside, mostly goats and sheep.

Chickens, ducks, and dogs were also killed in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by local authorities.

Responders say it does appear to be accidental.
