  • What a shame

Whether or not you agree witjh the layoffs.

The real fact is one could argue when you reduce police, fire or first responders in a area that had thay size of department for a reason. Really nothing good comes of it.

Maybe just maybe cost cutting can and should be done in other areas. I will not speculate where. I will say though by doing things like reducing a police force by a third you put not only the citizens of the town in greater jepordy, you also put the remaining police, fire, first responders as well as any other people that visit or drive thru a town in greater jepordy and lengthen response time.

Look what happen to Detroit some years back when they reduced their police force, 4-5 years later.

Now some may even argue they will have Cook county step in for safety with their police force. I personally think Cook County has a its hands full.
