Two suspected bank robbers arrested in Missouri

The FBI says two alleged bank robbers have been arrested in Missouri.

Ashley Patterson and Jeremiah Ellis are suspected of robbing the First Merchants Bank in East Chicago last Saturday.
Authorities say both of them had handguns and that Ellis fired at responding police officers.

Patterson and Ellis are being held at the Mississippi County Jail.

Officials say two children were with the couple.  They weren’t harmed.

    They were good parents. They were just trying to get their life on track by robbing a bank and using their weapons against a responding officer who was doing his job.
