1 dead, 2 hurt in Schaumburg car crash

One person is dead and two others are injured after a car crash in Schaumburg Monday morning.

It happened just before 11 a.m. Monday at Irving Park Road and Mitchell Boulevard.

Police say a passenger in a sedan was killed when the car was hit by a Chevy Tahoe, the Chicago Tribune reports. The two other people who were injured were the only other people in the vehicles.  Their injuries are believed not to be life-threatening.

No other information bout the victims have been released.

The intersection will remain closed several hours for accident reconstruction investigation, according to Schaumburg Police Sgt. John Nebl.

The Chicago Tribune also reports that a motorcyclist was killed at the same intersection in June 2011 when a semi truck turned in front of his motorcycle.
