3 hurt in Lasalle County school bus accident

Three people were hurt when a school bus slid off the road and flipped on its side in Lasalle County, according to Earlville Fire Protection officials.

It happened just about 8 a.m. Friday on Route 52 at 11th Road in Prairie Center, Ill. Traffic is shutdown between E. 11th and E. 12th in both directions.

The special needs bus was taking two children to the Lighted Way School in LaSalle, Ill., when the accident happened,  said LaSalle County Sheriff Cpl. Dave Woolford.

The driver and the two children were taken to Mendota Community Hospital with minor injuries, Woolford said.

The ages of the children are still unknown.
