South Side Irish Parade offers family fun for St. Patrick’s Day

Chicago gets ready to paint the town green for St. Patrick’s Day and when the South Side Irish parade steps off on Sunday at noon, expect fun for the whole family.

Organizers are cracking down on previous rowdy behavior.  Anyone drinking along the parade route will receive a $1,000 fine.

Parade Queen, Maeve McSweeney will greet parade watchers after its all over.  The Beverly native says she’s looking forward to the parade because it brings together different generations in the community.
