One year ago today, Pope Francis became the head of the Catholic Church.

He’s become known as a “man of the people.”

Unlike his predecessor, Pope Francis  does not wear expensive clothes or have luxury cars.

He also has outside consulting firms working on ways to clean up corruption and make the vatican more efficient.

The pontiff also made international headlines when he said, “Who am I to judge?” after being asked about the church and the gay community.

Some church observers believe the pope can still do more about priest sex abuse allegations.

They want him to meet with survivors and hold bishops accountable when they don’t deal with bad priests.
