Police: Infant dies after mother injects him with hand sanitizer

A mother in Louisiana is behind bars charged with the poisoning death of her 17-month-old son.

Erika Wigstrom, 20, told police she injected hand sanitizer into the feeding tube of her son, who had Down Syndrome.

Lucas Ruiz died January 24.

Prosecutors say he had a blood alcohol level of point-2.8 which is three times the legal amount for an adult.

Police say Wigstrom also confessed to poisoning Lucas at least one other time while he was hospitalized for a surgery.

    Yeah the only complaint I have about this article is that they have the blood alcohol level on there. That level is only illegal while driving. If it was illegal all the time, then everyone would go to jail on the weekends.

    Death to hee..I’m sick n of these so called parents abusing and killing these innocent children. I am a mother of two. Yes it is frustrating at times, but I’ve never been to the point where I had to hurt them. Its sickening to me that there are so many child murders lately. RIP little one. God has gained yet another angel.
