More than a thousand people met the challenge today and attained a lofty goal climbing and panting their way up thousands of stairs at the Presidential Towers.

The annual Fight for Air Climb raised money for the American Lung Association.  Ninety percent of every dollar raised today will go toward lung cancer research funding as well as to eradicate the belief among many people that lung cancer is a smoker’s disease which is not true.

Actors, first responders and even WGN’s own Dina Bair, joined amateur athletes and cancer patients took place in a great day for a great cause.
