Nealy 100 abused animals found in cruelty case

A suburban woman has been charged after nine animals were found dead and 94 were found in need of food and water on two farms.

Police say Stacy Fiebelkorn of Elgin  was in violation of an owner’s duty to provide food, shelter and water. Fiebelkorn was also charged with cruelty to animals.

Authorities found a dead horse on one farm near Maple Park.

Several dead animals and many sick ones were found on Route 20 in Hampshire Township.

The animals are now in care of the county.
