Fear not Chicagoans, a little ice can’t stop a festive, time honored tradition

St. Patrick’s Day organizers say that the Chicago River will flow green once again, even if that means breaking through the top layer of ice

For more than 50 years, the river has been dyed green for Chicago’s St. Patty’s celebration

The river dyeing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on March 15th, ahead of the annual downtown parade which kicks off at noon
