Flood watch effective until 3 p.m.; High wind warning begins at 5 p.m.

A potent winter storm will bring a variety of weather conditions to the region today.

A Flood Watch is in effect until 3 PM as over an inch of rain is expected in some spots today.

floodwatch2-20A wintry mixture will lay down measurable snow and possibly ice early this morning.  Those areas that don’t see the wintry precipitation will surely see rain.  Heavy rainfall is possible especially in those places where thunderstorms develop.

Showers and storms will becomes more scattered this afternoon as warmer air moves into the region.  Breezy west/southwest winds will push highs to near 50 degrees late in the day.

Very windy conditions are expected this evening.  A High Wind WARNING is in effect from 5PM until 11PM as we could see winds gusting 50 to possibly 60 miles per hour.  A few rain/snow showers are possible before midnight with the potential for a few snow showers overnight.

Colder air will move into the region for Friday through the weekend.
