Today marks the end of the two day faculty strike at UIC.

About half of the classes were canceled when the strike started Tuesday.

Hundreds of faculty members and supporters spent that time on picket lines and marching through the campus.

Classes that were taught by graduate students were not affected.

The union that represents tenured and non-tenured faculty members planned the strike to push along negotiations for a new contract.

The next bargaining session is Friday.
