IIT students make impressive debut at Auto Show

It goes 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds, weighs under 600 pounds and was designed and built by students from the Illinois Institute of Technology motorsports team.
The Thunder Hawk, which was IIT’s first appearance at the Chicago Auto Show, is an electric formula style race car crafted over a two year span by the school’s Society of Automotive Engineers.
The $80,000 dollar Thunder Hawk boasts a full aero package and front and rear end diffuser. It’s a pricey automobile made possible through sponsors, the school and donations.
