Violinist returns to stage with stolen $5 million violin

It was beautiful performance– that almost didn’t happen,

Frank Almond and his Stradivarius returned to the stage Monday night in Brookfield, Wisconsin, thanks to police who recovered the instrument three days ago.

The 300-year old violin was stolen more than a week ago from the concert violinist and Northwestern lecturer, after a performance in Milwaukee.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the theft.
