Treasurer Dan Rutherford is fighting a sexual harassment lawsuit, five weeks before the primary.

In a federal lawsuit, former treasurer employee Edmund Michalowski claims Rutherford made unwanted sexual advances toward him several times over the past few years.

Those advances included comments and inappropriate touching.

A travel voucher filled out by Michalowski conflicts with the timing of one of the claims in the lawsuit.

Michalowski tells the Chicago Tribune that he did that because he was embarrassed.

Rutherford says the claims in the lawsuit are false and spoke with WGN Morning News today.
